Warpaint
Warpaint are Emily Kokal (vocals, guitar), Theresa Wayman (guitar, vocals), Jenny Lee Lindberg (bass, vocals), and Stella Mozgawa (drums, keyboards).
Hailing from the west coast of the United States (Los Angeles), Warpaint have forged themselves as one of the most credible, and real all girl bands to arise in the last decade, making waves globally since the release of their recent album 'The Fool' on Rough Trade records.
Warpaint weave intricate guitar lines, hypnotic vocals and driving post punk rhythms into gorgeous, sprawling songs that skirt the line between psychedelic and intimacy.
The girls popped into see us here at the Basement Sessions late last year for a quick interview and chat about the new album release, swapping some interesting tour stories along the way.
We got on so well they came back to play us a very special and intimate version of 'Billie Holiday' on their return to the UK in February 2011.
